Katie KlarenaarManager Clinical Performance – New South Wales Ambulance

Katie gained her qualification as a P1 Paramedic in 2005 and has worked with a particular interest in process design in Clinical Services over the past 13 years. She commenced as a Patient Safety Officer taking a key role in the development of the Clinical Review Group with regards to tracking trends in Paramedic Error.

Katie was responsible for the development of New South Wales Ambulance’s first Clinical KPIs in consultation with NSW Health. She established the Quality Systems Assessment (QSA) within New South Wales Ambulance and designed and developed their first Clinical Risk Management Plan. Katie developed and implemented the process to ‘close the loop’ in relation to Clinical Safety Alerts and Notices to enable New South Wales Ambulance track read/receipt/understanding compliance.

In 2015 – 2016 Katie designed a task management solution named Streamline to reduce information overload for Station / Zone Managers. Katie also developed New South Wales Ambulance’s first Clinical KPI Annual Review process and built for purpose Benefits Scoring Chart.
